Speedwrite is a tool that will rewrite your content. You can use Speedwrite to generate several versions of your articles and write-ups so that they don’t get flagged as duplicates.
That said, there are several other tools that do the same job as Speedwrite. Some of the top Speedwrite alternatives include SpinBot, Outwrite, Chimp Rewriter among others. However, the best Speedwrite alternative is Quillbot. An easy to use interface together with plenty of features makes it the best of the lot.
Why Look For Speedwrite Alternatives?
Unfortunately, one of the problems people have when using Speedwrite is that it sometimes produces content that changes the meaning of the original text. This is an issue that I noticed myself when trying out Speedwrite – some of the results altered what I was trying to say.
Speedwrite also doesn’t have nearly as many reviews as some other alternatives, making it hard to know how good it really is.
Furthermore, there is no free plan on Speedwrite. You can try it out a few times for free, but you will run out of free tries quickly, and you will need to sign up for a premium plan.
Speedwrite doesn’t have a Chrome or Google Docs extension, nor does it allow you to generate content from scratch. There doesn’t seem to be any way to upload documents, either; you have to copy and paste your articles.
As mentioned earlier, there are many great Speedwrite alternatives out there. Regardless of why you wanted to use Speedwrite, check out these excellent alternatives instead.
Best Free Speedwrite Alternatives For Rewriting Paragraphs & Paraphrase Content
1. Quillbot – Best Free Speedwrite Alternative
Quillbot is one of the most well-known paraphrasing tools, and it is my #1 recommended alternative to Speedwrite. Unlike Speedwrite, Quillbot has a free plan, although you will be limited in the number of words you can rewrite at a time (150).
Despite that, the free plan is free forever. Not only that, but you don’t even need to sign up for an account – you can use it without registration.
I do recommend proofreading the results you get with Quillbot, as they can sometimes sound a bit unnatural or have minor grammar mistakes. Nevertheless, this is a problem you will get with almost all rewriter tools – artificial intelligence can never truly compare to human writing.
While Speedwrite only has a rewriting tool, Quillbot features several other tools that will help you improve your writing. For example, you can run an article through the Summarizer tool, which will generate a short summary of the article, which you can use in your email newsletter roundup.
The grammar checker tool will help you avoid common grammar mistakes that are easy to miss. If you need to cite a source, whether an online article or a book, simply use the Citation Generator to quickly generate a proper citation.
Quillbot has a new tool now as well. It’s called the Cowriter tool, and while it is still in beta mode, I have not seen anything quite like it on the web.
While it incorporates some of Quillbot’s other tools, such as the paraphraser, it is a separate tool in its own right that offers a lot more than that.
When writing, you can use the Research tab to search for articles on the web. You can select text from those articles, rewrite them instantly, and insert them into your articles.
Or, you can pull text from those articles and insert them into the one you are writing, along with a citation. There is a lot more you can do with Cowriter – for example, it shows you reading analytics, such as total reading time, as you write.
One more thing: Quillbot has extensions and add ons for Google Docs, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Word, increasing your productivity.

Quillbot's accurately designed AI helps to paraphrase your text in a matter of seconds. Used by millions of writers, students and professionals worldwide, Quillbot is the tool to consider for your paraphrasing needs.
2. Paraphraser.io
One of the best free alternatives to Speedwrite is Paraphraser.io. You can rewrite up to 1,000 words for free, without any registration required.
The downside is that the site has ads, can feel a bit slow at times, and requires you to check the captcha box before checking your writing.
It has three modes: Fluency, Standard, and Creative. Try out the different modes until you find one that works best for you.
I tested Paraphraser.io out myself, and I was pleasantly surprised by the results. On the one hand, it didn’t completely rewrite the content; however, it did switch up lots of keywords, which is usually enough to get your writing approved when running it through Copyscape.
On the other hand, the results made grammatical sense, for the most part, with few mistakes.
Furthermore, unlike Speedwrite, Paraphrase.io has several other tools, such as a plagiarism checker. If you need to make sure your text contains no plagiarism, simply run it through the plagiarism checker tool after rewriting it.
There is also a citation generator tool and a grammar checker tool.
3. Spinner Chief
Spinner Chief has both a downloadable software version and a web version, unlike Speedwrite, and it also provides a free plan option. However, the free plan is somewhat limited, as it doesn’t give you access to the advanced customization capabilities premium members get, and the results aren’t as good.
If you do upgrade, however, you can customize your results. For example, you can select from different spin types and choose whether to get more readable results or more unique results.
You can add protected words that you don’t want the tool to change, and you can even respin your spun content to get even more articles.
The tool will show you a “spin tree,” where you can select different parts of the spun article. It allows you to decide whether to spin only words, only phrases, or both, and it comes with a grammar AI optimizer.
One of the other reasons to use SpinnerChief over Speedwrite is that it allows you to buy a team license, so you can share the software with your colleagues.
When using Spinner Chief, you should always proofread your results. Sometimes, they can come out sounding a bit unnatural and weird, though it depends on your settings, the rules you set up, and the spin method you chose.
It’s not the most simple tool to use, but it does have a lot of options, so spend some time tinkering around with it until you figure out how to get the best results.
If you do decide to use Spinner Chief, I recommend getting a premium license. You will enjoy a more updated version of Spinner Chief, and the results you will get will be much better.
Unlike Speedwrite, you don’t have to lock yourself into a recurring subscription – you can buy a one-time license and use it forever.

4. SpinBot
SpinBot is a free SmartDraw alternative. I like how you can use the adjustable slider to make the paraphrased results longer (with more words) or more concise (with fewer words).
SpinBot uses a lot of synonyms and alternative phrases when it rewrites your content. That will ensure that it passes any kind of plagiarism checker you are putting the text through.
On the flip side, the downside of that is that the text can sometimes come out sounding a bit unnatural. That is why it is important to proofread it and edit it a bit to smooth out the rough edges – but that is something you can expect with many spinners and rewriters, not just SpinBot.
While SpinBot might not be the best paraphrasing tool out there, it has an upcoming feature that is soon to be released – the Translate and Spin tool.
Using that tool, you will be able to input text from any language and spin it to another language. I’m not exactly sure how accurate the results will be, but it’s a feature worth keeping an eye on, as almost no spinners allow you to do that.
You don’t need to register for an account to try SpinBot out for free. However, when using it for free, you will have to deal with ads and complete a captcha every time you want to spin content.

5. Outwrite
Outwrite is a nifty little tool that you can use instead of Speedwrite to rewrite sentences. Unlike Speedwrite, it has a browser extension, allowing you to rewrite your sentences whether you are crafting an email, creating a social media post, or writing a blog post on WordPress.
Outwrite is more than just a paraphrasing tool, however. It’s a grammar and spelling checker, and it also has a plagiarism checker tool.
It comes with a built-in thesaurus to help you find alternative words. Or, you can simply use the Rewrite tool to get a couple of different suggestions on how to rephrase a sentence.
While Outwrite does have a free plan, you won’t get access to the rewrite tool when you use it. You will be able to use the grammar and spelling checker for free, which will not rewrite entire sentences but will still give you ways to simplify and shorten long phrases to make your articles more readable.
Outwrite does have a free trial, however, Outwrite is better than Speedwrite if you want to rephrase specific sentences as opposed to spinning a whole new article. The goal here is to learn how to write simpler sentences that are easier to read.
You can certainly rewrite your entire article, but you will have to focus on one sentence at a time.
Many article spinners add unnecessary words when rephrasing sentences or paragraphs, with clunky end results that sound like they were written by a bot. Outwrite is the opposite – its goal is to make your sentences more concise and easier to read.
6. Chimp Rewriter
Chimp Rewriter is an excellent Speedwrite alternative that uses Natural Language Processing and artificial intelligence to create new, exciting content from existing text.
It’s a lot more customizable than Speedwrite, with the ability to create your own thesaurus with your favorite synonyms, remove synonyms from being included in rewritten content, select words to never be rewritten, and a lot more.
You can rearrange sentences, combine two sentences into one, and check your grammar. The built-in Copyscape checker allows you to conduct a plagiarism check with a single click.
If you need help composing an article, the research tool lets you find articles and other content and incorporate them into your new article, spinning them first to make them unique. You can combine content from different sources.
Once you’ve created content, you can choose one of several export formats, such as HTML, to make it easier to use the content in your email, on your blog, or elsewhere. There is even a blog submitter tool, which you can use to syndicate your content across many websites.
While Speedwrite works best in English and may work with languages adjacent to English, Chimp Rewriter has built-in thesauri for many languages. Supported languages include English, Spanish, French, and a variety of other European languages, from Swedish to Slovak.
However, additional languages may be added in the near future, so keep an eye out for that.
While Chimp Rewriter is not free, there is a free trial available, so you can try it out without committing to anything.
7. Rytr
Rytr is an AI-powered writing tool. You can use it to generate content for your blog, emails, or anything else.
There are several benefits of using Rytr over Speedwrite. First, it has a forever free account option, allowing you to use the software, with limits, for as long as you would like.
However, even more than that, you don’t need existing content to create unique content with Rytr. Rytr uses artificial intelligence to create everything from scratch.
To get started with Rytr, you should first select a use case. There are over 20 available:
- Blog ideas
- Blog sections
- Emails
- Social media ads
- Interview questions
- Job descriptions
- Landing page copy
- Product descriptions
- And many more!
Regardless of the type of content you need, Rytr will write it for you, from scratch. You can create as much unique content as you like by simply inputting some information for the AI tool to work with (for example, it might ask you for a blog post topic, keywords to focus on, and so on).
Furthermore, Rytr works in over 25 languages. You can create content in multiple languages, without even knowing those languages well.
Rytr has an intuitive web app that is easy to navigate. There is also a Chrome extension that works on social media sites, email, and more.
8. Jasper AI
Jasper, previously known as Jarvis or Conversion.AI, is an interesting Speedwrite alternative. Unlike Speedwrite, it doesn’t just allow you to rewrite content, but it also generates content from scratch, using artificial intelligence.
When writing in power or focus mode, you can highlight any sentence to rephrase it. The sentence will retain your original intent, though it will change some keywords.
You also have the option of rephrasing your sentence to reflect a 5th-grade reading level by clicking the smiley face emoji.
If you have a sentence you would like to expand upon, the Sentence Expander will take your content and make it longer while keeping it engaging.
What if you don’t want to simply rewrite one sentence? In that case, you can select the Content Improver template, which will take your existing article and rewrite it, with the goal of making it more interesting and engaging.
However, if you don’t have existing content you want to paraphrase, you can let Jasper write everything for you, from scratch.
There are over 50 templates to choose from, which include:
- Blog post introduction paragraphs
- Blog post conclusion paragraphs
- Quora answers
- Amazon product descriptions
- Engaging questions
- Personal bios
- Company bios
While Speedwrite works best for articles and blog posts, Jasper works just fine for ad copy, social media copy, personal bios, product descriptions, and more.
Don’t use English? No problem. Jasper supports over 25 languages, so you can rewrite and generate content from scratch in other languages, too.
Jasper even provides free web copy and SEO courses.
While Jasper isn’t free, pricing is extremely flexible. You can choose either the Starter (for short content) or Boss Mode (for long-form content) plan, and use the adjustable slider to choose the exact number of words per month you need.
See here for updated pricing.
9. Rewrite Guru
Rewrite Guru is a free Speedwrite alternative that allows you to spin up to 1,500 words at a time, at no cost. You can choose from three different spin options:
- Smart Spin, for moderate spinning
- Ultra Spin, for extreme spinning
- Manual Spin, for manual spinning
If you select manual spin, the system won’t rewrite anything for you. Instead, it will highlight the sections or words that can be replaced, alongside a list of synonyms that you can choose to replace them with.
Regardless of which spin method you selected, however, you will always see the replaced words and phrases highlighted, and you can click on them to see a list of synonyms.
That’s one of the things I loved about Rewrite Guru. Although the results are a bit messy at times, you can simply select a different synonym from the list to make your writing sound more natural and intelligent.
Rewrite Guru will also check your text for grammar mistakes. There is also a plagiarism checker, which you can run your spun content through to see if any plagiarism remains.
If you do detect plagiarism, consider trying Ultra Spin instead of Smart Spin.
Rewrite Guru is available in English, Spanish, Russian, French, and Italian.
10. Simplified
Simplified is a free Speedwrite alternative. Using artificial intelligence, it can rewrite your copy to create new, engaging content.
I liked how Simplified lets you select a tone you want the new content to reflect. For example, you can have it adopt a humorous tone, or you can generate more serious content.
From single sentences to paragraphs to entire articles, Simplified can spit out new content in seconds. However, you aren’t limited to rewriting existing content, as you always have the option to generate new content from scratch.
If you need to create new content from scratch, simply select one of the content types, such as a blog conclusion paragraph, a company bio, or something else. There are over 30 content types to choose from.
Simplified also has a web design tool that integrates with popular media sources like Pixabay and GIPHY. You can use it to design landing pages, websites, and emails after rewriting your content.
You don’t need a credit card to get started with Simplified for free.
11. WordAI
WordAI is a text rewriter that aims to use machine learning to produce high-quality content that sounds natural and indistinguishable from human-written content. It first tries to understand the meaning of each sentence and then restructure it so that it is unique.
If you need to create multiple versions of the same article, you can use WordAI to generate up to 1,000 different article versions. The more times you rewrite a text, however, the more likely it is to start sounding unnatural, so do keep that in mind.
You can choose how much you want WordAI to change the rewritten text from the original. You can incorporate more differences to give it a better chance of passing through a plagiarism checker, or you can keep it closer to the original content.
Don’t worry, however; all the rewritten content that WordAI produces will pass through Copyscape, which is one of the most well-known plagiarism checkers.
If you have a lot of articles to rewrite, WordAI is a lot better than Speedwrite, as you can upload multiple articles in bulk and spit out new versions for all of them, saving you lots of time. You can also download your rewritten articles in bulk.
Furthermore, you can view your rewritten articles in HTML or rich text format.
Or, you can use the WordAI API to add article rewriting to your existing workflow.
Unfortunately, WordAI is not free. However, it does have a short free trial – you can see more details about that and pricing here.

Wrapping It Up: What Is The Best Speedwrite Alternative?
There are many amazing alternatives out there. However, I recommend Quillbot.
While not perfect, Quillbot is easy to use, being that it has extensions for Chrome, Google Docs, and Microsoft Word. Plus, there is a free plan, and even the paid plans are very affordable.
I particularly liked the Cowriter tool, which made it easy to incorporate content from the web while rewriting it first. All in all, Quillbot is one of the quickest ways to get started with rewriting content without emptying your wallet.
