Quick Summary
For non-Roku TCL TVs, get the BESIA or Maxitoc replacement remotes. Make sure your model is supported.
For TCL Roku TVs, you have many amazing options. Opt for an official Roku Voice Remote or Voice Remote Pro if you can.
Otherwise, choose the Yimaut, Oritronic, or Alizen voice remotes, as they all offer excellent features. Just make sure your remote has the app shortcuts you want.
Best Remotes for TCL TVs & TCL Roku TVs
1. BESIA New Bluetooth Remote
For standard, non-Roku TCL TVs, this is a great replacement remote. It supports a wide range of TCL TVs and replaces all of the functions of your original TCL TV remote.
For example, it includes a Google Assistant button, and it features shortcuts for Netflix and YouTube.
It doesn’t require programming or pairing.

2. Maxitoc Replacement Remote for TCL
This is a great replacement remote for non-Roku TCL TVs with Google TV. It has six app shortcuts:
- Netflix
- Disney+
- Apple TV+
- TCL Channel
- Prime Video
- YouTube
It does not include a voice function. It runs on two AAA batteries, which are not included, and has a supported distance of around 40 feet.

3. Roku Voice Remote Pro
What if you have a TCL Roku TV?
If you can, get the official Voice Remote Pro from Roku, which supports Roku TVs and Roku Players.
It is a bit pricier than those Chinese-made replacement universal remotes, but it is well worth it, as most replacement remotes for Roku TVs do not come with voice control.
In addition, while most replacements only allow you to connect one or two devices, this one supports up to 18 devices.
There are some other differences that make it stand out from most cheap replacements. For example, while most replacements run on batteries that must be purchased separately and replaced when dead, this one has a rechargeable battery.
So, you can charge it with any USB cable.
You can also pair it with the Roku Mobile App or even say “Hey Roku, where’s my remote” to find your remote with the built-in lost remote feature. Forget about gimmicky glow in the dark remote cases.
Furthermore, the voice control can be used to operate your TV with the “Hey Roku” voice command.
In addition to the four app shortcut buttons for your favorite streaming services, there are two customizable personal buttons. There are also voice shortcuts which you can use to launch your favorite playlist or streaming service.
It also uses Wi-Fi to connect to your Roku TV, unlike most replacement remotes which rely on infrared technology, resulting in limited control distances.
Finally, another useful feature is the built-in headphone jack, which allows for private listening.

4. Roku Voice Remote
Another option, which is cheaper than the Roku Voice Remote Pro, is the regular Roku Voice Remote.
It is missing some features, such as the two programmable shortcuts for your favorite apps and voice shortcuts. Also, it only supports one device, rather than 18.
Here are some of the other things that the Roku Voice Remote Pro has which the standard Roku Voice Remote does not:
- A rechargeable battery
- A built-in headphone jack
- A lost remote finder
Still, it comes with handy voice search features, which most generic replacement remotes are lacking. You can use it to power up and navigate your Roku TV, and there are preset app shortcuts at the bottom with which you can access your favorite streaming services.

5. Yimaut Pack of 2 Remote for Roku
This replacement remote is compatible not only with TCL and other Roku TVs but also with other Roku devices, such as the Roku Player and the Roku Ultra, unlike many other replacement remotes. Nevertheless, it is incompatible with the Roku Stick or Stick Ultra.
Not only does it come in a pack of two, but it comes with two cases for the remotes. You can get a black + blue case or a black + pink case.
The bright blue and pink colors make it easier to find your remote when you lose it under a pillow or something. The colors (the pink and blue cases, not the black ones) actually glow in the dark, making it easy to find the remote at night without turning on the lights.
In addition, to make it easier to find, it comes with a strap with which you can hang the remote on a hook or even on your wrist.
Unlike many replacement remotes, which only have four buttons, this remote has a whopping eight buttons for your favorite streaming services, including Amazon, Netflix, YouTube, Prime, Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and source video.

6. Oritronic Replacement Backlit TV Remote Control for Roku TV
This Oritronic replacement remote works well for TCL Roku TVs and other Roku TVs. It’s one of my favorite replacement remotes since it has backlit buttons which glow in the dark.
That not only makes it look cool at night, but it also makes it easy to find the buttons you want when you are watching in the dark. No longer will you have to worry about squinting and straining your eyes at night to find the right button.
The backlight only stays on for 10 seconds, though, and it is activated by pressing any button on the remote.
It does not come with batteries, so you will have to buy two AAA batteries separately and insert them to make it work. It also doesn’t come with an instruction manual, but since no programming or pairing is required, it’s not really a big deal.
It has four buttons for quick access to Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, and Prime Video.

7. Alizen Replacement Remote Control for All Roku TV Brands
Next, we have this Alizen replacement remote. I like it because it has a whopping 12 app shortcut buttons, which is a lot!
Some of the app shortcut buttons include Disney+, Hulu, YouTube, HBO Now, and Sling. It also has a Spotify shortcut button, which is great for all music lovers.
Most of the buttons are located at the bottom, but two shortcut buttons, Netflix and Prime Video, are at the top of the remote.

8. ZdalaMit RC280 Replace Remote Applicable for TCL Roku TV
This is a simple but handy replacement remote for TCL Roku TVs as well as Roku TVs from various other manufacturers, including Westinghouse, Philips, Sanyo, and many others.
Note that it is for Roku TVs only, not other Roku products such as the Roku Box. The best way to check if it’s compatible with your Roku TV model is to head to the Amazon page and find your model number in the list of model numbers specified. If yours is not there, it may still work, but contact the seller first to confirm.
It might look and feel cheap, but it gets the job done well. It has four buttons to easily access the popular streaming services Netflix, Hulu, Sling TV, and Vudu.
There are also navigational buttons with which you can access other streaming services, apps, and settings on your Roku TV.
It runs on simple alkaline batteries, which are easily replaceable when they run out. In addition, no programming or pairing is necessary to get the remote to work.

9. ZIIMOTING Universal Roku Remote Replacement
This replacement remote works with Roku TVs, including TCL, Hisense, and other Roku TVs. It doesn’t work for other Roku products, such as the Roku Box or Roku Stick.
It has four buttons for the following streaming services: Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, and Disney+. The home button makes it easy to navigate to your home screen, while the back button lets you exit an app seamlessly.
The remote is durable, as the buttons have been tested to support between 8,000 and 12,000 clicks each, which means it will last you many years (depending on your usage). Besides, this comes in a pack of two, so you will always have a second fallback remote if the first one fails.
It’s important to note that the remote works with infrared technology and not RF technology.
With a maximum supported distance of 35 feet, you can easily and comfortably control your Roku TV from your couch.
No programming or pairing is required. It runs on a pair of AAA batteries, but these are not included, so make sure to purchase them separately.
A warranty of 30 days is provided to all customers. This is not a very long time, but it should cover basic issues that result from faulty remotes, which usually show up within the first few weeks.

10. 1-clicktech Remote for Roku TV
The replacement remote from 1-clicktech supports TCL, Hisense, and other popular brands of Roku TV. It comes with a free case in one of four colors: blue, red, pine, and purple.
The case is made of soft material and washable. The remote runs on two AAA batteries, which are not included.
It has six shortcut buttons for the following streaming services: Disney+, Apple TV+, Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, and Prime. In addition, there is an input button at the top of the remote to switch the video source, making a total of seven buttons.
It works with infrared technology, and it can support Roku Players (although not the Roku Stick).

One of the best things about this remote is that it has a whopping eight buttons for shortcuts for your favorite streaming services. Those include Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Amazon, Sling, Vudu, and HBO Now.

12. Betterqualityremote Replacement Remote for All Roku TVs and Roku Players
This remote for Roku TVs, including TCL Roku TVs, looks more like a standard remote for a smart TV than a Roku TV remote, as it has a much wider range of buttons. In fact, it has the most app shortcuts of any Roku TV remote on this list so far.
Some of the video streaming services with app shortcuts on this model include Hulu, YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, ESPN+, Sling, Fandango Now, HBO Now, and Vudu.
In addition, there are app shortcuts for music streaming services such as Spotify and Pandora, allowing you to quickly launch your favorite music playlists or podcasts.
In total, there are 18 shortcut buttons.
The downside of this remote, though, is that although it has extra programmable app buttons in addition to the preset app shortcuts, you need your original remote to clone them. You can’t just program them out of the box without a prior remote to clone.

13. New Universal Remote for All Roku TV
I like this generic remote because it comes in several versions: You get to decide which app shortcuts you want in your version.
Here are the app shortcut combinations available (just choose one from the product page):
- Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV+, and Disney+
- Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, and Disney+
- Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, and Disney+
As you can see, Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+ are present in all the three versions. What’s left is for you to decide whether you want a button for YouTube, Prime Video, or Apple TV+.
Make sure to select one of those versions if you want a replacement remote for your Roku, not the Samsung Smart TV version.
With a 90-days warranty, you can be sure of the quality of this product. Furthermore, Amazon has marked it as a product which customers generally keep and for which there are few returns requested, which means you are unlikely to experience major issues.

14. SZILBZ Bluetooth Replacement Remote Control for Roku TV
Most of the replacement remotes you will find on Roku TVs work with infrared technology. However, this one uses Bluetooth connectivity to connect to and control your TCL Roku TV.
What is the difference, you may ask? Well, while infrared is really the standard for most remotes, as it is easy to manufacture, Bluetooth has certain advantages.
For one, infrared requires a line of sight to work. Bluetooth technology, on the other hand, while also working with a limited range, doesn’t require a direct line of sight.
That’s because it uses radio waves to communicate, as opposed to infrared technology, which uses infrared light
The remote comes with four app shortcut buttons: Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, and Disney+.
This particular product is incredibly cheap and has a maximum distance of around 25 feet. Its buttons have been tested to last for 120,000 clicks, which means it will last a very long time.
